Announcement of the "OBon Evening"

ART HOTEL Ishigakijima will be holding an in-house event called "Obon Evening" on August 25th.
You can enjoy Okinawa's traditional performing art "Eisa" and Yaeyama 's traditional event "Angama" at the hotel banquet hall, both of which are part of the Obon festival.

❖ Okinawan traditional performing art "Eisa"

During the Obon festival, it is said that people parade through the streets of the district, dancing to songs and music, to welcome back the spirits of monks returning to the mortal world. The prayers offered are diverse, including a bountiful harvest, family safety, and good health. Please enjoy the dynamic performance.

❖ Yaeyama 's traditional event, "Angama"

During the Obon festival, Grandpa (Ushumai) and Grandma (Nmii) return from the afterlife with all their descendants (Fama). They respond to the hospitality of each household with songs and dances. Witness this feast of interaction between this world and the next, complete with humorous exchanges in local dialects.
